A Wickedly Good Final Day in London

Today was our last day in London before tomorrow's train trip to Edinburgh and our performance experience in Edinburgh!

We had a blissfully  unscheduled morning, allowing some folks to catch up on sleep and others to just slow down a bit - except for one group who went on a morning shopping expedition for Vidya's birthday and a few who took in the Tate Modern Museum, right across the street from Bankside House.
Bankside House, our home this Week

Our daytime highlight was our tour and workshop at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre!  The Globe is a reconstruction and replica of the original Globe, built by Shakespeare and his contemporaries in 1599 and again after a fire destroyed it in 1613.  Our group was split into two, with each group sharing some space with students from another AHSTF school.  I was in with the first group, and we had a terrific workshop on Shakespearean acting technique through Romeo and Juliet - our teaching artist was terrific at involving the whole group, and even some of our "techies" did a bit of acting!  The second group didn't report quite as positive experience - their leader was a pretty tough, no-nonsense kind of guy, I understand - but it was a valuable hour nonetheless!

Everyone was free to shop, walk or just hang out at Banskide for the rest of the afternoon.  Then it was on to WICKED at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, right outside the Victoria Station.   The walk-Tube combo was much easier tonight, and we had plenty of time to relax over a sandwich or slice of pizza before the show, which was terrific!  The show is in the process of installing new actors in both lead roles of Elpheba and Glinda, and they were both super!
Anticipating a great show!
