Casting Notice

Thanks again for a terrific set of auditions – the energy, enthusiasm and spirit you show  will help us create another great Einstein show!  Before (or after)  you dash down to find if your name appears, please take note of these important bits of housekeeping:

• There is a signature line next to the names – sign there by your name to accept your role.  Sign either the list on the auditorium door or the one on the theatre callboard in the music hall.
• CAST MEMBERS come to the auditorium  at lunch - for measurements.  If you have an arts class during periods 4 or 6, please try to come then.
• If you are NOT cast at this time, have a little patience and a spot might open up a little later on down the line – especially after report cards come out!
• All assignments are tentative pending payment of ECA fees, continued good grades and others factors that might come up.  If you have NOT paid your ECA fee see me immediately.  You will not be permitted at rehearsal after break until it is paid.
• Any paperwork (application, resume and contract) that is not complete needs to be turned in  by the first day back, January 2. Also, complete all your info on VSM, including phone numbers, addresses, and updated  bio if you haven’t yet.  All cast members have VSM accounts – new crew members, see me about setting one up for yourself.
• CONFLICTS should be entered into the system by December 31.  Enter any confirmed conflict for any event between 2:30 and 10pm on school days and 9am – 3pm Saturday.  No conflicts may be entered for dates after March 1.
• There are a few more little ensemble track speaking things to figure out, but that will come after the break  things like the movie voiceovers.
• We will meet at 2:15   Wednesday, January 2 for the first read-through with the cast album.  This is always a fun experience – plan to stay for the whole reading – it’s a short show so we should be able to finish by about 4:30, 5 at latest..
• Script books will be issued to all principal characters, and you may highlight in them – return them after the show or buy them – your choice.
• CREW CHIEF personnel are expected at the readthrough.  Note the available slots that we have at this time (some might have already been filled – just ask).  If you want one of those jobs, make sure your paperwork is in and talk to me about the job you are interested in.
• Available crew chief positions may be filled by cast members depending on the nature of the job and the student’s position within the cast.  Assistant Directors should not have a stage role, or should have a role that allows for significant time off stage.,
• UNDERSTUDIES will be assigned for each principal role – if you have not been placed in the cast, or if you have an ensemble track, ask me if there may be an understudy track available for you.

CALLBACK NOTICE FOR THURSDAY,

DECEMBER 20

            We’d like to see the following from 2:30 until about 4:30 in the theatre for another audition.  The main focus will be on vocal work for character, with some makeup dance material to do also.  I will ask a few of you to read as well – but not everyone will get the chance to read.

            A final list will be posted Thursday night at einsteinstage.blogspot.com, and will be posted also on the theatre door.

            All cast members are asked to report to the little theatre at lunch on Friday for measurements.

CALLBACK NOTICE FOR WEDNESDAY

DECEMBER 19

            We’d like to see the following from 2:30 until about 5:00 in the theatre for another audition.  There will be vocal work and reading from the script – there will possibly be some makeup dance work. 

            No cuts in the cast have been made.  All applicants are still in the running for cast slots.  If your name is no on this list it does not mean you have made the show.

            You can expect another callback list for Thursday afternoon – some of the people listed here might be asked to return Thursday as well.
