Casting plan

Many thanks to all who took the time to audition for the show. The choices are always tough and this was a really hard one – congratulations on a job well done.

If we were not able to assign you a cast position at this time, please consider working on the other aspects of the production as much as your schedule allows. PLUS, I am planning on training the house and box office staff to appear more or less in character (but without period costumes) while dealing with the public – so your work to this point will come in handy as we develop those crews.

If any changes to the cast are needed, we’ll notify you personally if an onstage spot for you develops – and that happens more often than not.

CAST AND CREW CHIEFS ARE EXPECTED AT THE READ-THROUGH THIS EVENING, SEPTEMBER 13, BEGINNING AT 6PM IN THE AUDITORIUM. Please be early to sign out your scripts and turn in any remaining paperwork. The readthrough will last until at least 9pm. Please plan to stay for the duration.

All casting and work assignments are based on the completion of all paperwork – application, contract and resume – by FRIDAY, September 16.

There are some ASSISTANT positions that have not been posted, but we’ll be open to adding them as the need and interest arises.

Understudies for all roles will be assigned within the next week.

IF FOR ANY REASON YOU ARE NOT GOING TO ACCEPT YOUR ROLE, PLEASE TELL ME IN PERSON RIGHT AWAY, SO I CAN ASSIGN ANOTHER PERSON TO THE ROLE. THERE ARE MANY QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WHO WERE NOT OFFERED A ROLE AT THIS TIME.

CALLBACK NOTICE

Thanks to all for a really fun and talent-filled initial audition. It’s such a “nice” problem to have such an abundance of talent and interest. The task of narrowing down the field to 25 onstage performers will be tougher than ever.
To that end, I have scheduled TWO rounds of callback auditions for Monday, September 12 – a 2:30 -5:00 session, primarily geared toward principal characters with a special focus on vocal questions – and also a 6:30 session which will be focused more on the ensemble work and vocal readiness there. If you are called to a session please make every effort to attend the session you’re scheduled for. If you need to request to be placed on the opposite list, please check with me or email me at einsteinstage@comcast.net. As I will have more casting assistants at the afternoon session, it’s important to try to be at the session you’re called for. I will switch your session gladly in the case of sporting event conflicts or other school event conflicts.
PLEASE come to the audition with any of your outstanding paperwork – application, contract, resume. Also come with an idea of your conflicts for the rehearsal period – especially sporting events or weekly/daily commitments – better yet, enter them in VSM now. As always, no cuts have yet been made, and no casting has been decided.
